Our well-established client seeks a hands-on Assistant Controller to grow with their close-knit team. This role has room for growth and would be a great fit for someone looking to be part of an organization that values the community around them.
Responsibilities of the Assistant Controller
- Oversee accounting team ensuring timely and accurate close.
- Prepare and maintain reports related to financials and job costing.
- Maintain financial statements ensuring accuracy and GAAP compliance.
- Support leadership team in making strategic forecasting/budgeting decisions and mitigating risk.
- Support year end processes including tax filings.
- Ad-hoc financial and inventory analysis/reporting.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; active or in-progress CPA highly preferred.
- At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience including prior supervisory responsibility.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, GL functions, and financial statement review/analysis processes.
- Proficient with ERP systems and MS Office Suite including intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Deadline-driven with the ability to effectively manage competing priorities.
